Latex sheets are especially designed as a barrier for use during oral sex (cunnilingus - oral vaginal sex, or rimming - oral/anal sex).
Oral and anal sex is a very popular way of "making love" because touching either the genitals or the anus with lips and tongue causes very strong erotic feelings. Nevertheless, barrier methods are very important for oral/anal intercourse, too, especially in case of different partners.
